How do they listen?
what do they like - Music type/style

Class D amps rule in the $$/watt/enjoyment - if you find the right maker...
Streaming? - if so, MP3 at best (yes I know you can stream DSD, or better, but in practice, at 1.5 USD...)

you should be fine w/ an integrated amp and some speakers...
Say NAD, or Arcam, Bel Canto, Marantz...
Speakers - lots to chose from
