Oftentimes the 'noise' mitigation we chase is in the 'noise' and not worth chasing. Engineering is all about choosing your battles and achieving best bang for the buck. Chasing ghosts ain't it.

    there are only practiced ears.
    
    I bet if you were to listen with me and I pointed out what those differences are with certain recordings you would be able to hear them, too. That happened to me on a number of occasions years ago when I would listen with my audio reviewer mentors.
    
    I enjoy all the subtleties of my music - especially those deep in the mix. :)
