If he's a friend, and will use and enjoy them, there's pleasure in letting him have them, and if you lend them to him, then you keep the relationship alive and don't have to worry about price, etc. You can talk about money later if it comes up.
Regardless of what you decide on selling/lending: if you aren't using them, then you'll feel better when they're not lying around! Life's too short.
