Why go for silver-coated copper ... why not solid silver? I'm pretty sure Michael Percy sells some?
And IMO multiple insulated strands of, say, 20g solid-core would give a better result than one solid-core 14g (and, as you might gather, I believe stranded wire should be avoided like the plague! :-)) ).
