I've never owned A Marantz product but that CD6006 sure seems to be a good fit without actually being able to audition one. Especially given the range of headphones you have and the impedence/gain options the CD6006 offers.

Yes, what I have read about it is very positive.

Not only does it have volume adjustment for headphones on the front, but it can also be adjusted do the different impedance of he headphones.

But most importantly, it has no issues reading CD-Rs.

  Ah, good to know about its ability to read CDR's. Over the years I've had some that could while others couldn't.
