this is a hybrid amp, with 2 x 12au7 in the preamp stage, 80W at 8oh
the input fuse is 5A; as it happens i had a much better fuse around, from Synergistic Research Quantum, but it's 4A
any danger in replace 5A by 4A? my full system is already protected by a PS Audio Dectet Power Center
TIA, paco
Follow Ups:
It should work if your unit had a delayed turn on. The inrush current is a common killer of fuses.

No danger, as others mentioned. But do realize it may blow if the lower current rating triggers it, while the original spec would have played on as acceptable within the specific circuit design.
Cheers!

No. It is when you put in a HIGHER rated fuse you can cause mayhem.

yep, i opened the amp and discovered it uses FIVE more fuses! you can see them on the pic; 1 set of 3: 0,5A each; then 1 set of 2: 0,8A and 2A
now, which of them seem to be more important to replace for a better sound? all? some? none?
TIA!
