  I own an ARC SP6B and an older Classe but forget the number. They couldn't be more different. Believe it or not the SP6B is much brighter and brutally clean with gobs of gain no matter which gain level you select and its' all 12AX7s. The Classe is SS but sounded quite subdued to me and I have been meaning to sell it for years. BTW no matter which 12AX7s you choose for the ARC the sound remains pretty much unchanged, If you like the mellow sound I would stick with the CJs.
