I measured XLR pin 2 to the RCA center socket. I also tried something else this evening: I turned on my FM tuner, cranked up the SS preamp volume control fully clockwise (it uses the balanced input to the power amp), and listened with the input selector switch set to the unbalanced input. If I put my ear right up to the speaker midrange driver, I could very faintly hear the FM, but could not understand any of the speech content. So, there is some cross talk between the inputs, but it is absolutely inaudible at normal listening levels (perhaps 11-12 o'clock on the SS volume control, which is loud enough to annoy the neighbors if I leave the windows open).
