Is that the little receiver with the tuner that had a knob on the right and no dial scale? If so I had one. TAS raved about the phono section which I thought was very good. Somebody well known in Hi-Fi designed it early in his career as I recall. Good luck !

If I remember right it was a Tim Holman or a similar name, who designed the phono section. There was rave review by,(is it politically correct to say this)The Audio Critic in their second issue reading which I drove 50 miles to a Tech HiFi (remember those?) and bought it.Yeah,it has the round tuning knob.Funny thing was that its 15 watts per channel was not enough to drive my Large Advents!

section of the Advent 300. Apt-Holman and THX ring some bells?

I cant bear to see someone laying hands on my little black 300 though!

I've used this place with excellent results. Fair and friendly.
The upgrades they did to my NAD amp resulted in transformed performance, amazing really, and I'm surprised I haven't read more about their work in here. Needless to say I found them highly competent and experienced, and surprisingly reasonable in cost. Count me a very happy customer.

You might try these guys in Manhattan. I'm sure they can do it.
Forget about Analogique. I have an Advent 300 which I bought from eBay two years ago. Of course, it needed work so I took it to Transtronic Labs in Bloomfield, NJ which is 11 miles west of NYC. They restored it perfectly. Replaced some transistors, capacitors, diodes, and aligned the tuner. Cost? Less than $125. Call John at Transtronic. You DON'T have to pay outrageous repair costs!
