I'm using the power amp of a Yamaha integrated (via it's MAIN IN jacks) which is running in class A for the tweeters via the famous switch on the amp. The ribbon tweeters are quite efficient- like 98 dB 1 watt- and the Yamaha is like 10 watts in class A so that is about right. This amp doesn't seem to be "AUTO" class A like some of their amps (which is "high bias calss A/B operation) but REAL class A.
So, yes, I am trying to figure out how to set the bias higher on my HCA-1000a the Mr. Curl said he runs his HCA-1000. So far, I've gotten no advice on what current to set the bias TO, which I'd like to have before I do the adjustment.
