I'm sticking to my damping terminology

Hola BArry,

As I replied to David, I beleive these platforms provide a degree of isolation via damping. Vibes get in, but not all of them get out. That sure seems like damping to me. Whether or not damping provides any isolation is a matter of where the damping is applied. Applied to a component chassis, no isolation is provided. Applied between the component and the floor, some degeee of isolation will occur. This of course assumes the damping device doesn't have any nasty effects (like damping some frequencies while amplifying others).

I think we all agree on what's happening and the sonic effects.
