Measure the room.OTOH, I was a bit too quick to respond and should have said that it is possible but unlikely that this is room-mode-dependant. If it is, moving the mike about +/-6inches should give different results, as another poster suggested. If that's so, you need to do some damping as 1KHz peaks should be amenable to that.
