Elso,Do you remember what cap values you used at the output of the preregulators? Those you mentioned were low-level oscillations?
In any case, the preregulator arrangement Jung uses now is slightly different, as he hangs the superregulator "inside" the voltage setting loop. The adjustment resistor goes to the superreg output instead, not to ground.
The BDs are great transistors, even if maybe they are a bit old. Using new transistors might bring an improvement. Jung definitely recommends them.
Using bigger caps at the output of the superregulators is another option that was definitely disregarded by WJ. But Jan Didden, who collaborated on this last design, used 10,000uF on his own Sulzer version in TAA 1/87.
In my opinion this DIY options is something that prays for the Sulzer version too, as the newer version couldn't be modified or "would get you into trouble". But isn't trouble DIYers middle name?
Your reports on how these regulators sound when compared to batteries are very enlightening and myth eliminating.
