This particular issue has great impact for me personally since I have 'statics and have deliberately chosen not to try the zobel loading due to the issue I have metioned, I should just try it I guess. However I still can't get how another resistive load in parallel with a near short (the speaker load) can assist since it will reduce the load the amplifier sees further.
I get your point about a near short causing reflections, however the output of a solid state amp will be fairly low too so both ends of the transmission line will be reasonably closely matched, subject to seeing real measure ments of output impedence and inpuut impedence at rf frequencies.
Despite my assumptions I have always wondered at the true load a 'static presents at rf. They are a near short at 20khz, I wonder if that continues into the true rf bands since I haven't seen any measurements extending beyond the low ultrasonic frequencies.
