I went to Menards and bought a Sperry Volt Sensor. Cool tester for $15. Found one of my speaker cables to be carrying "noise" - unplugged a nearby lamp (different circuit)and voila...Gone! The copper sleeve also works as it no longer squeals near the PC plug. Unfortunately I also found it squealed all around my power conditioner and the front top of my amp. At what level is this excess voltage harmful to the sonics? I almost wish I didn't test it!
