RE: Which wire to choose to build power strip?




I put together an outlet box that seems to work pretty well. I used an OdiO case from THL Audio. They have a nice selection of aluminum and copper outlet cases. You have to be careful about not overtorquing the screws on the aluminum cases though. For wire I used Neotech single crystal copper that I got from VH Audio. My own preference in outlets is Hubbell "Porter Ports" that are available on Audiogon. The balance is more full bodied than the Oyaide outlets, but it's a matter of taste and system synergy. For IEC connectors, I haven't found anything better than the Furutech cryoed inlets available from Cryoparts. I went for the less expensive FI-10G gold plated copper inlet. To make the box something of a power conditioner, I added about thirty pieces of topaz to absorb rfi.
