Thanks for the advice! I hooked my xbox into the cd input on the receiver and that is working great with clean sound. The only problem left is the tv. I hooked up the same set up as with xbox, but nothing. The tv has audio outputs for "Stereo", "SAP", and "Mono". None of these did the trick. There is no sound or muffle whatsoever, but could cheap cables be the problem. They are just regular, small RCA cables. I would think that it would still make some noise though so thats why I dont really know. Is it possible that the outputs on the back of the tv could not be functioning? Any other way to test them?
On the back of the receiver, there are the two tape outputs. When I plug the tv cables into these, and press tape 1 or 2 on the front of the receiver, it just says dubbing. I take it these wont work? Thanks for the help so far though!
