It is comforting, isn't it? I think it's a matter of bandwidth and perception. Let's see, even if you are on 160M that would be 3KHz/1.8MHz for a rousing 0.0017 bandwidth. But your stereo is 20KHz/20Hz or a bandwidth of 1000. Not only is it ~5 orders of magnitude larger, RF essentially stays on the very outside of wires while audio signals transition the whole skin effect gamut.
Perception wise, hams tolerate rotten signals, audiophiles don't. If you are old enough to have listened to or have owned a good plate modulated AM transmitter then you know how lousy SSB sounds by comparison.
