Thanks, Al. Although you're talking slightly over my head (not your fault--mine), I'm better than 99% certain that in the power supplies of all of my tube gear, very capable chokes sit in front of any capacitors. I believe, as you imply, that I have little to worry about as far as noise generated by amp or either preamp. The empirical experiments that you suggest sound interesting and are easily accomplished; I'll give them a try. And I should end by thanking everyone for his efforts to guide me, here.
