what i soon found was that the compliance was too stiff once the equipment was on it.That's not necessarily a bad thing.
What was the resonant frequency of the combination? Such a system isolates vibration above its resonant frequency so if your resonant frequency was down around a few Hertz or so, it would be effective at isolating frequencies above that.
