"Ultra" available in stock Home Depot(OSH stocks a slightly sturdier knob
1-3/8 In. Chrome Finish Bifold Door Knob with Screw
Model 98552
1-3/8 in. diameter, round, concave, zinc die cast knob. For kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors and drawers, vanities and medicine cabinets. Screws included.Zinc is reasonably hard non resonant metal but the chrome is over copper over zinc and that copper is bit soft by which I mean the ones under my amps exhibited small track marks due heavy weight.Other lighter(20lbs or less)units on 3 of these where fine.Sorry I am in the dark ages with no digal imaging equipment so for now I can only describe these.Using 1/2" chrome steel bearings(see post above for good source). These are available at Home depot or OSH although OSH version was even sturdier build @.89each vs HD@.98ea.
Made a batch of diy rollerblocks based on this knob.It is 1 3/8" dia with chromeplated zinc cast body 8/32" threaded post in back.
Block style#1:(Sound very warm)I bored maple blocks with countersinks dynamatted bottom knob and block.Fastened to block via supplied machine screw adding my own washers.Cut screw to proper length with machine screw cutter on wire strippers.Block style#2:(Sound tight clean/lean well extended bass)Again dynamatted underside knob and fastened to very large plated nut with nylon lock which the fender washer rests against perfectly.Correct size fender washer takes some searching(Home depot or OSH again)these are quite striking and highly functional. You can prime and paint the nut to set off the chrome knob(did a set in black/set in metallic bronze hammer finish and set left natural cadium plated.
Block#3:(prettiest and perform so close to machined aluminum type)
For the picture of the base of this block and how I made it you need to open post marked "wheel"
