The post below asking, what is the rest of your components, is a very valid question. I have found over the years that the (over used word) synergy of a system is more important to making a system enjoyable than just adding components. How does one achieve this synergy out of a system, I guess just luck. I can answer only from my experience, the Cary V12 is a fabulous amp, it will operate in either a push/pull configuration or a SET (single ended triode) mode. If you should decide on this amp, it does benifit from an upgraded powercord and you should budget for that. I have seen them used for the $2000.00 range and less. They have only been out for a couple of years so there is not much of a risk of getting a worn out one. I am sure others will have opinions of their own, this is only my thoughts after using many of the other major tube manufacture's products. Good luck with your search.....Bob
