After I decided to go with SETs I asked questions and searched this site and others for info on power/volume potential; ie, how much power do I need? then more research to get general character of the tubes, 2A3 & 300B. Ok, now that thats done and you've decided on a tube type, call the manufacturer and ask questions about their phylosophy of design. Now that thats done, order it! Let's be real, you can get a state of the art 2A3 amp for <$1000! Lets say its not everthing you want and decide you need a different one. Sell it and buy another! Either way you still save thousands by not buying a commercially popular design. Plus you'll learn a lot in the process.BTW, I bought the Fi X - never heard it - can't wait to get it.
