Please check the Jadis site. They mention that it can take KT90 or 6550.
I tried the 6550 (Svetlana), KT88 (Chinese) and KT90 (Ei)on a DA-60. I got the best results with the KT90.
When I exchanged e-mails with them sometime ago, they told me that the amp is self bias. All you have to do is to get 4 tightly matched pairs.
The Jadis KT90 are Ei tubes. I bought some from them and they were type 2. These days they may be supplying type 3 tubes.
If you check their technical info page, they mention that KT88 are not very reliable. That might be the reason for their reaction. You can always clarify the situation with them.
