VAC sells their KT-88 based amp with custom modern production Chinese tubes that they charge +$150 per matched pair for. What does that tell you? That VAC is a bunch of crooks? To the contrary, rumor has it the their amps, even with those silly new Chinese tubes, sound "ok".My confession for today - I like my Russian 6922's and KT-88's just fine.
