Timbo please forgive my late replay, but truth be told I forgot about this post until now when I was about to ask the same question here. Being non-technically oriented, I have absolutely no idea what kind of circuit the CR Developments Kalypso integrated uses. What I can tell you is this; when I compared it directly against my Mastersound Reference 845 integrated SET amp, in my main system ---{which you can see at the link below}--- by removing the Mastersound and installing the CR Developments in it's place, the Kalypso sounded very, very good and really impressed me.
In fact the Kalypso impressed me so much sonically I don't know if I want to sell it any longer ---{A fellow AA member who visited my home told me how much he really wanted the CR Development Woodham 300 Classic Preamp I was selling, so I received the CR Developments Kalypso and some cash for the preamp I was going to sell when I traded with him instead}--- and that's why I asked my question in the OP. I might just invest in some really nice sounding tubes for the Kalypso and keep it...
