truthfully speaking the metal base smooth versions are not mullards.They are made by phillips and amperex and mullard marketed a smooth plate metal base but it was phillips design.The wide base gz34 sound very good as do the metal base gz34s.
No matter how you stir the pot,you can only get out what you put in.
