Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I finally received my Stromberg-Carlson ASR-444. I tested it last night and only the A channel produced sound. The master volume pot sounded bad but responded well to Faderlube. It was supposed to have been serviced as described below from the listing. Any suggestions would be great.
I already tried switching tubes around.
original listing
Stromberg Carlson ASR-444 1960-61 vintage stereo amplifier. 30 watts of power per channel with 4 new Ratheon 7026A tubes. Amplifier has been recapped, pots cleaned and voltages checked. This is one great sounding amplifier. It has the often missing leatherette cover and is in very nice condition. Other than a little windex on the amp chassis, I did not clean much. I'm afraid to take off any numbers. This amplifier came from a smoke free environment. 7026A's are high octane 6L6's.
