I also do not know the Shuguangs, and had been swithing between the Flying "C" and the New Sensor Mullard. The "C"s are fantastic, the Mullard sublime for a current production EL34. As, I suppose, with all tubes they need some burning in time to remove some of the initial harshness.I use Monitors in my small room and the bass quality was a welcome revelation, and the mids will melt ya. The Mullard are here to stay!
There are two types of music- good and bad. Life is too short to bother much with one and hopefully long enough to fully appreciate the other...
