Buy a book, for example, "A beginners guide to tube electronics", by Bruce Rozenblitt, and do some reading. There is a wide choice of tubes available for building a linestage, and the 6DJ8 and 12AX7 are both not unusual choices, because these tube types are readily available and relatively cheap. No one could possibly tell you which version of the Quicksilver will sound best based only on the knowledge that they use different tube types and assuming that both are well designed, which is a fair assumption given Quicksilver's longstanding reputation. You will have to listen for yourself. I personally would not choose either type if I were building a linestage for my own use, because I believe that other tube types can be made to sound better, but I am not constrained by the problems that face a manufacturer.
