Congrats on your new acquisition!I would stick with the stock tubes until the unit (assuming you bought it new) is well burned in and you have familiarized yourself with the sound of the REF2MkII. I've yet to reach the limits on my own REF2MkII (2 months old), even with the stock tubes. Everytime I upgrade a component, the REF2 just tells me about it.
I have got some nice mil-spec Philips 7581A (6L6GC equivalent) and GE 5AR4 tubes from AA sponsor Jim McShane, but haven't felt the need to try them out yet.
