Unless the filaments are DC regulated and current foldback results, 300 or 600ma will not create an issue anyways.

Most transformers were designed with 700ma per circular mil wire current capacity. Some newer cheaper designs lowered that spec. Another view is 300 additional milliampere at 6.3vac adds 1.89 watts additional load. On a 200 or even a 50 watt transformer, that is unremarkable. An ambient temperature rise of 10 degrees F would have more impact.

The RCA 5692 is simply over rated, however 'your mileage may vary'. A pair of older glass Tung-Sol 6SN7 are excellent tubes.
