For the more economical tube I have tried the Ei and EH. I liked the Ei a little better in the preamp. But the EH's are not bad but again I did like the Ei better. I haven't tried a Mullard but do have one on order. If you can use it in your set up I've heard good things about the Sylvania 6902 gold pins.
