I have found that the sound of my system "comes together", i.e. it sounds more detailed, more richer, after being run for several hours. What I do is run it for at least 2 hrs (usually 3hrs) with the tuner, prior to playing LP's.

But, then again, BOTH my preamp and power amp are tubes,...so perhaps its the tube amp....
