I have been using the 7119 in favor of the GE and RCA 5687's. 7119 has been smoother and less colored than the 5687's in my PP amp. I think you just have to try it and see if you like it. Biasing position can be important. For my application I run them at a plate voltage of 200V and current of 10 mA per triode in a diff amp phase splitter with interstage transformer coupling. 7119 wins in that situation, but the 5687's have more "character". Both are pretty good tubes. Opinions like these are not going to be as important as your own evaluation.
