Partially true, but I use the SUN amplifiers with interstage transformers, these are much better sounding than traditional capacitor coupled designs. Interstage transformers are quite rare because of their cost, so even the so called US high end makers ( who spend most of the cost of your equipment on the advertising, NOT the parts) don't use them. The art of making good interstage transformers has been lost in the US - but both Audio Note and SUN use Japanese made ones of outstanding quality from legendary makers.
In the 50's lots of great design used interstage coupling transformers. As a hint, Audio Note use the interstage coupling transformers in the output stages of their best DACs (including the DAC5 selling for over $50,000) as it sounds best!
