I own a SVC-500 without the balanced transformers (the OTL version). The output transformers are BALANCED - meaning they use balanced connectors and must be used with amplifiers having balanced inputs. This technology is very common. Some claim a better sound, but it's really only marketing hype and a way to get audiophiles to think there's something new to trade up for.
I don't know of ny audio notes using balanced inputs/outputs. Maybe you are confusing the interstage coupling transformers on the power amps?By the way, the OTL version of the SVC-500 is not only cheaper, it sounds superb.
