I had heard that the panels of the Beethoven could be used as "full range" speakers sans subs. Interesting. I remember that the panels looked like oversized Orions.I don't know what the amplification of the Beethoven was on the day we auditioned them. I tagged along to the auditin with another audiophile and frankly I had not even heard of the speakers prior to the audition. But clearly they left an indelible impression. But I would bet they were bi-amped (at least) because Linkwitz, himself, conducted the audition, although I did not figure that out until a few years later when I met him for the Orion audition.
