The one thing to keep in mind with the 22s is that they are different from the rest of the line. The 11/12/21 all use the same crossover point. The 22s uses a higher crossover point. 3khz I believe vs 2.2kzh for the passives and 1.8khz for the actives.

I actually preferred the 21ls to the 22s, and I prefer the 12l actives to the 21s. Never directly compared a 12l active to a 22 though.
