I love 'em. Real sleepers IMO. Homely little chassis - great sound. Mine are keepers.I was using Keith's VTSP-1 preamp but have sold that and intend to acquire the VTSP-2, which has everything I want in a pre. Although the Herron amps work very well with other gear, I find there is a definite synergy with the preamp/mono amps combo. (Plus, the M150s were voiced on Alon Circes. It was a no brainer for me.)
I love the immediacy, control and finesse of the 150s...something about the timing just sounds...like music. Very neutral and natural sounding to my ears. BTW, I think the term "neutral" really is a virtue. (It need not equal bland.)
I had lived with and/or auditioned a couple amps - C-J, VTL, Blue Circle...then I heard the Herrons with the VTSP-1a at a demo, bought 'em and never looked back. The big VTLs were fab but outa my price range. I like the Herrons nearly s much and they do some things better (like bass).
Herron gear seems less picky about after-market power cords and such like.
I highly recommend the Herron amps and the preamps.
