With the use of a subwoofer. That would apply to the MG 1.6's certainly. Depending on the cross over point, the sub will not only give you deeper bass but much improved dynamic capability, e.g. for rock music or orchestral crescendos. My modest system is comprised of Magneplanar MMG's plus a PSB Subsonic 6. I use the PSB's built-in low-level, 80Hz high-pass to fed my main amp. The combination is a capable and extremely satisfying in a mid-sized room. Check out my system if you like.
With the MG 1.6 you might experiment with a 50Hz cross-over; that would certainly be better with MG 3.6 or 20.1.
