My wife is a "secondary fan". She doesn't give a hoot about audiophilia, but loves the results when the music is playing. She doesn't know much, or care to know much, about composers and compositions, but makes a point to (silently) remember basic details when she likes things. For example, I came home and she was playing Liszt on my rig, "I LIKE Liszt!" she said to me. Whooda thunk it? She likes classical and jazz -- even the experimental stuff. She hates opera. She loves pure Rock (even Metal), but hates Prog. But -- my real point -- she's "passive" in all of this...pretty much just allows me to put things on, and then listens, or tells me to "Take that garbage off!!!" She has the right, though. She is, after all, the CFO :-)
