A while back I posted here about the lack of really exciting, dynamic classical recordings on CD. With the wide range of instruments in an orchestra, you'd think they'd be the best. Many of the 'mates were helpful suggesting the labels you mentioned plus older recordings on RCA Living Stereo and Mercury Living Presence. I still haven't heard any Living Stereo reissues but the Mercury helped, although there was some slight tape hiss. However, it's worth the trade off. The soundstage is better and performances top notch. It still remains frustrating to have such great gear and lack recordings to go with it. I guess it's part of the fun of the hobby. If it were all perfect, where would the challenge be?
Fortunately, the gang here is extraordinarily helpful, so pick your chin up, bunky. There are better recordings ahead.
