It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Re: Jazz - Big Band and Trumpet?

For that big band sound try Big Train by Wynton Marsalis with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra (LCJO). Not the piercing sound of Maynard but an exceptional recording with all the power of the big band; and ther are more than enough trumpet fanfares by individuals. There are three or four WM with the LCJO that have that big band sound, but it is a mixed bag. Big Train is straight ahead big band.

The Dorsey Brothers and Count Basie from yesteryear. You might consider looking at the collection CDs that have more than one band on them. Concord Jazz has quite a few Intro to ____ and Jazz for ____ CDs. There may well be one for swing or big Bands.

Count's April in Paris just knocks me out.
