I heard a take of Eddie Jefferson interpreting Miles Davis' "So What" on the radio several times--a very groovy peace, and sound quality seemed to be adequate, juding from across the air waves. I definitely second the Lambert, Hendricks and Ross suggestion. Also check out John Hendrick's album, "Freddie Freeloader."
