Jazz listeners, Eddie Jefferson

Anybody heard Eddie? Anybody have more than one of Eddie's albums?
Sound quality is not to good. Especially on CD. I have played "Still on the Planet" (vinyl only) for friends and have never had a positive comment. If fact, after asking somone if they had time to hear some music, they said sure, and when I put on Eddie Jefferson they said "well, I gotta go" and they were gone before the first cut was over.
Doing a search here I could find no mention of this artist. I'm not saying you should hear this, because I've never had anybody want to.
Just curious if someone out here likes Eddie Jefferson.
