Shheessh SPL! John and I both admitted to actually enjoying this piece. Hell, I listened to it 5 or 6 times in a row. OK - I should say I enjoy it except for listening more than once to that Silvestri/Philharmonia practice session. All of this talk of romantic or sentimental drivel is obviously (to some of us) a chuckling acknowledgment that to today's ears, this piece would be considered rather dated, melodramatic. Soaring but squishy. Like the tongue-in-cheek soundtracks applied to spoofy love scenes in some recent B comedies. OK - flame me for watching a Leslie Nielsen movie - I've left my right flank unprotected!But don't you go accusing me or anyone else around here of being macho OR of listening to rock. Those guys have their own forum.
And if it's true as you post above that you ARE gay (acceptable around here BTW, as long as you dress well), and that you also are looking for some rock to listen to, then I'd recommend:
