That half step modulation is what makes the thing good. It's what raises it above pablum. Without that, it's just what was said about it - monotonous crap.
I was alway impressed with that modulation, and took it as evidence that rock musicians really did have some talent. Now, this shows the opposite. No harmonic ability at all.
