Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Yes, but

Behringer's DEQ2496 has a street price around $300, and it has a full suite of EQ functions. I wrote about it for Stereophile.

However, if this was a problem that was mine, what I would do is buy every different reasonably affordable CD of the title I could find, hoping that one was not so spitty.

There's a Japanese Obi-packaged one up on eBay right now. Link below.

There are also CDs on eBay with different covers--perhaps one is not problematic.

I just listened to the sound samples on iTunes, and they did not sound terribly bright. Unfortunately, that album was not "Mastered for iTunes," and so it is not 24-bit.

Also unfortunately, it is not on HD Tracks.

Were it a huge rarity, and really important to me (and in the parallel universe where I do not do audio engineering) I would pay an engineer with a good turntable to rip the vinyl to 24 bit 44.1 kHz, clean it up, and then burn it to a CDR.

Best of luck,

JM
