Lowell,
Sandoval is one of my favorites and glad to hear that you are enjoying his work. I am sure that you are probably familiar with Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis and you may want to pickup some of their material (classic artists in this genre). Others that you may not be familiar with, that I enjoy and recommend would be the following jazz trumpeters:
Clifford Brown
Lee Morgan
Freddie Hubbard
Kenny Dorham (I especially enjoy the classic tune "Blue Bossa")
Wynton Marsalis
Randy Brecker
Roy Hargrove (more recent artist)
These are just a few of the numerous jazz trumpeters available to listen/audition, but these suggested I enjoy and am familiar with severals titles. Anyways hope this helps and enjoy the music! :-)
